Today’s Forecast:
Labor day is here and that means we should see some balloons take off this morning! The Labor Day Lift Off should be in good shape with dry skies and light to calm winds through the morning. There are a few showers down by Walsenburg and back west into the mountains this morning but Colorado Springs is expected to stay mainly dry, other than an isolated sprinkle or two through the morning. Scattered showers return this afternoon.

CANON CITY: High – 76; Low – 57. Sprinkles possible this morning but scattered shower chances are much better this afternoon. Temps will stay mild tonight with cloudy skies.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 61; Low – 45. Scattered showers this afternoon with very cool temperatures. Expect cloudy but dry skies tonight.

PLAINS: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Cloud cover will be thicker in the afternoon with a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Expect dry skies tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70s; Low – 50s. Light showers and sprinkles this morning with a better chance for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms this afternoon. Dry and cloudy tonight.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Cloudy and cool weather takes over the rest of the week with daily afternoon thunderstorm chances. Tuesday will probably be the warmest day of the week, because a strong cold front kicks through that afternoon and pulls highs in the Springs back down into the mid 60s for Wednesday! Rain looks pretty light and spotty through the week but as mentioned earlier, we have a chance every day through Friday. The weekend now looks sunny and much warmer.
