It’s an upper level (over 20,000 feet) disturbance that is keeping the heavy cloud cover around, and the occasional showers. I expect on and off showers tonight, early and later tomorrow, Tuesday evening. A cool front coming down from up north will add to the instability, moisture, etc with an upslope flow Wednesday, and it will take Thursday and maybe Friday to dry out from it all. Ergo, tonight’s weather headline.

For what it is worth, it does appear that a much dry-er pattern establishes next weekend, for awhile thereafter.

Colorado Springs; Low: 57, High: 74. Occasional showers this evening, then mostly cloudy. A little light rain early Labor Day, then mostly cloudy, with a t-shower later in the day again.

Pueblo; Low: 62, High: 82. Occasional showers this evening, then mostly cloudy. A little light rain early Labor Day, then mostly cloudy, with a t-shower later in the day again.

Canon City; Low: 57, High: 74. Occasional showers this evening, then mostly cloudy. Labor Day, mostly cloudy, with a t-shower or two in the afternoon.

Woodland Park; Low: 57, High: 74. Occasional showers this evening, then mostly cloudy. Labor Day, mostly cloudy, with a few t-showers in the afternoon.

Tri-Lakes; Low: 57, High: 74. Occasional showers this evening, then mostly cloudy. Labor Day, a little light rain early, then mostly cloudy, with a t-shower later in the day.

The Plains; Low: 57, High: 74. Any showers die out this evening, then partly cloudy. Labor Day, partly sunny with a t-shower later in the day.

Walsenburg/Trinidad; Low: 57, High: 74. Showers tonight. Labor Day, partly sunny, maybe a t-shower later in the day.

Extended Outlook…T-showers likely later Tuesday. On and off showers Wednesday. T-showers likely Thursday afternoon, maybe one more Friday afternoon…but drying out by then.
