Wednesday Forecast: Gloomy with light showers

Today’s Forecast:
Get ready for a cloudy, damp and gloomy day across southern Colorado. Rain will come out of the mountains later this afternoon and push east through the I-25 corridor and plains. Cooler, stable air will mean most of the rain we’ll see today with be light showers, but a few stronger storms are possible in eastern Baca county.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 69; Low – 56. Foggy through the morning and then just cloudy and cool through the afternoon. Scattered showers will try and push through the city after 2pm through the end of the day. A few more spotty showers are possible into the evening but after midnight we’ll be completely dry.

PUEBLO: High – 77; Low – 59. Warmer than Colorado Springs but still cloudy, humid and gloomy today. A  few scattered showers are possible this afternoon, mainly after 3 to 4pm. An isolated shower or two is possible through the early evening but we’ll be dry for most of the night.

CANON CITY: High – 76; Low – 60. Scattered showers through the afternoon with more off and on light rain into the evening with dry skies expected after 10pm.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 66; Low – 48. Scattered showers anytime after 1pm today with an isolated moderate shower or two moving through to the end of the day. A quick shower or two is possible early tonight but we’ll be dry by 9pm.

TRI-LAKES: High – 60s; Low – 50s. Light scattered showers this afternoon after 2pm through the end of the day. A quick shower or two is possible early this evening but most of the night looks dry.

PLAINS: High – 70s; Low – 50s. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible later today, mainly after 3pm through the overnight hours. A few storms could be strong to even severe in eastern Baca county, but stable air should limit most storms to just an isolated heavy rain or two.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70s; Low – 50s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon through the evening. A few showers will show up first after 1pm with off and on showers through the end of the day. We’ll be mainly dry tonight other than an early evening sprinkle.


WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Dry skies dominate the for the next few days! Thursday we’ll see a mix of heavy clouds to a few sunny skies mixed through with only a small chance for showers in the mountains. Friday looks sunny but hot, right in time for the state fair! The weekend looks mostly dry, but we can’t rule out an isolated shower or two in the Pikes Peak region.
