Tonight’s Forecast:
It’s a repeating pattern, through Sunday, then some changes occur. The pattern now is, a WNW flow aloft (above 12,000 feet), but a SE flow nearer the surface. Think about how when these two opposite wind directions meet between 8-12,000 feet, it creates a twisting in the atmosphere…and if there is moisture present and condensing, you’re going to get (PM) T-storms, and now it just becomes a judgment as to if they could turn severe, and how severe. That is Saturday’s story (just a few), and that is Sunday’s (more than a few, but not nearly like last Monday.)

A second round of the day Saturday, could take us into early this evening for the I-25 corridor, but only one round for the Plains, and it will end by 10pm. However, look for some widespread fog, for both the Arkansas River Valley and El Paso County late at night into about 7am Sunday. Then bright sun, then clouding up early afternoon, with mostly late-day storms kicking up a fuss. And these could linger towards the Midnight hour by the time they reach the Plains.

Monday is way cool, much cloudier overall, and there will be a few very mild showers.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 57, High – 81. Early shower, then partly cloudy with fog late. Fog early Sunday, then sun, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 3pm. Could easily turn severe.

PUEBLO: Low – 60, High – 88. Early shower, then partly cloudy with fog late. Fog early Sunday, then sun, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 3pm. Could easily turn severe.

CANON CITY: Low – 61, High – 85. Early shower, then partly cloudy. Sunday, sunny,, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 2pm. Could easily turn severe.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 49, High – 75. Early shower, then partly cloudy. Sunday, sunny, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 1pm. Could easily turn severe.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 54, High – 77. Early shower, then partly cloudy. Sunday, sunny, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 12pm. Could easily turn severe.

PLAINS: Low – 62, High – 88. Evening storms, then partly cloudy late with fog. Sunday, fog, then sunny, then clouds by 2pm, then T-storms by or after 4pm. Could easily turn severe.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 60, High – 86. Early shower, then partly cloudy. Sunday, sunny, then clouds, then T-storms by or after 2pm. Could easily turn severe.

NEXT WEATHER MAKER: Still a few showers on Monday, but then we get to dry out (crazy, how we go feast or famine, with rain.) Tuesday through Friday could easily be rain-free for almost all of us…with temps rebounding to seasonal levels.
