Tonight’s Forecast:
More gully-washers, frog stranglers, big boomers, into this evening. It is entirely possible for larger storms to wash out roads, swell small rivers over their banks, and if over mountains and burn scars, to create more land-slides. The storms have been building over the mountains and the I-25 corridor, and will spread east and southeast this evening. Meanwhile, several rounds of storms will form out ahead of these, in the far eastern counties, such as Cheyenne, Kiowa, Bent & Prowers. It is entirely possible that these counties see 2 or even 3 rounds, going beyond the midnight hour. Because of the high moisture content and temperature drop off with height, torrential rains and small to medium size hail continue to be likely in larger storm cells. A funnel or two could be spotted in the Plains of Colorado. The storms will end early this evening around Springs…maybe mid evening Pueblo, but not until after midnight further south & east.

Looking ahead, Friday & Saturday still appear similar, with sunny mornings. The difference will be location and timing. Friday, the focus appears in the southeastern corner, and Saturday, the northeastern quarter of the state. Sunday PM and Much of Monday could be a very real repeat of last Sunday & Monday. Stay tuned for that possibility!

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 58, High – 82. (Severe?) storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, then chance PM storm.

PUEBLO: Low – 60, High – 88. Storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, then partly sunny.

CANON CITY: Low – 61, High – 86. Storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, then partly sunny.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 55, High – 80. Storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, slight chance for a PM storm.

PLAINS: Low – 64, High – 88. Storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, better chance for a PM storm.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 60, High – 86. Storms early, then partly cloudy. Friday, sunny through early afternoon, better chance for a PM storm.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Storm chances are later afternoon Saturday and really for the NE quarter of the State, including as close as the Palmer Divide, east to Kiowa County. Sunday, it appears much more widespread, and from mid-afternoon through part of the evening. Very warm to hot on Saturday, cooler Sunday.
