Today’s Forecast:
Huge heat today comes back into southern Colorado with near record temperatures expected through Colorado Springs to Pueblo. Dry air and plenty of sunshine will allow temperatures to grow very fast today, by noon you should expect 90s from Colorado Springs to Pueblo and well east into the plains. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible around the mountains of the southern Sangre De Cristos near the Spring fire, but the majority of our area will stay dry.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 95; Low – 64. Hot and dry with a bit more afternoon cloud cover to give us a break from the heat.

PUEBLO: High – 103; Low – 68. Very hot and dry today with only a light breeze to help make it feel cooler.

CANON CITY: High – 99; Low – 67. Hot and dry with a bit more afternoon cloud cover to give us a break from the heat.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 86; Low – 55. Very warm across Woodland Park with some afternoon cloud cover giving the city a break from the heat.

TRI-LAKES: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Hot and dry with a bit more afternoon cloud cover to give us a break from the heat.

PLAINS: High – 90s/100s; Low – 60s. Very hot and dry today with high soaring well into the triple digits for most.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 90s; Low – 60s. A few showers and storms are possible around the Sangre De Cristos this afternoon with a very small chance a storm could kick up off the Raton Mesa. Most of the area from Walsenburg to Trinidad should just plan on a very hot and dry day, there’s just a small chance for rain over the higher terrain areas.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER
Monsoon moisture makes a return on Friday with storms starting over the mountains and moving east into the lower elevations by the late afternoon and overnight hours. Anyone going to the 719 brew fest in Colorado Springs should know rain is a very good possibility, especially for the first half of the festival. Saturday a few scattered storms are possible but better rain looks to come Sunday and especially on Monday of next week.
