Weather Alert Day: Areas of flash flooding

Flash Flood Watch for the higher elevations west of I-25 and El Paso County until midnight.

Flash Flood Warning for areas around the southern part of the Spring fire until 5:45pm. 

Flash Flood Warning for areas around the Hayden Pass burn scar until 6:45pm.


Tonight’s Forecast:
Showers and storms will continue through this evening and into the overnight for some. A Flash Flood Watch will be in place for areas along and west of I-25. The potential for flooding will be high in urban areas and locations near the burn scars. Models have been pretty insistent on the possibility of heavy rain around the Pikes Peak Region this evening. Lows will be in the 50’s with drier skies after midnight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 33, High – 67. Heavy rain possible this evening with drier conditions after midnight.

PUEBLO: Low – 33, High – 67. A few showers/storms possible this evening. mainly dry tomorrow. 

CANON CITY: Low – 33, High – 67. Areas of showers and storms this evening, eventually clearing overnight.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 33, High – 67. Showers and storms possible into the early overnight hours. Drying out before tomorrow morning.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 33, High – 67. Showers and storms this evening with skies drying out after midnight. 

PLAINS: Low – 33, High – 67. A few showers/storms possible this evening and overnight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 33, High – 67. Showers and storms possible this evening and early tonight. 


NEXT SEVERAL DAYS: A warmer day for Friday with highs in the 80’s and 90’s. A few isolated showers and storms try to develop over the higher elevations, but it should be a drier day overall. Hot and mainly dry for the weekend with highs in the 90’s. Could see a few stray showers/storms over the mountains each day. Highs will be in the 80’s and 90’s for most of next week with the best moisture chances holding off until the middle of the week.
