Today’s Forecast:
A cold front that passed overnight will bring much cooler air into our area today. Many models are still having a tough time deciding how much cooler we get. We’ll go with highs in the 70’s for now, but we could end up only in the 60’s around areas of El Paso County. Winds will be breezy at times. Showers and storms will develop throughout the day. These will be scattered in nature with a little more organization towards the plains later this evening. Some storms could become strong to severe, especially for the eastern plains, with large hail, strong winds, and an isolated tornado threat. Any storms dissipate quickly overnight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 70; Low – 48. Much cooler today with scattered showers and storms.

PUEBLO: High – 79; Low – 51. Cooler temperatures with a few showers/storms.

CANON CITY: High – 81; Low – 52. Cooler today with a chance for a stray shower/storm.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 61; Low – 41. Cooler temperatures with a chance for a shower/storm.

TRI-LAKES: High – Near 60; Low – 40’s. Much cooler today with scattered showers/storms.

PLAINS: High – 70’s; Low – 50’s. A much cooler day with scattered showers/storms. Some of those could be severe.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70’s; Low – 50’s. Scattered showers/storms today with cooler temperatures.

Warmer air returns with a vengeance for the rest of the week. We warm into the 80’s to near 90 on Monday. 90’s and 100’s kick in for the rest of the week with similar levels of heat each day. Mainly sunny skies with some areas of pm cloud cover each day. Any moisture chances will be nil to minimal after whatever we see today. Winds will be breezy later in the week and that will likely mean red flag warnings. A little bit of relief will be possible heading into next weekend with highs cooling off a bit into the 80’s and 90’s.
