Today’s Forecast:
Most of southern Colorado will see a warm and dry day but we do have rain chances across the southeast mountains. The only good chance for rain today is going to be storms that form near Costilla county and move east and southeast through the southern border. A few more storms may kick off near the Raton Mesa but again they will move southeast out of the state with small hail and lightning the main threats. The rest of us should enjoy a dry and warm day to kick off summer vacation!

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 86; Low – 55. Warm and dry today with a light afternoon breeze and more late day cloud cover.

PUEBLO: High – 93; Low – 59. Hot and dry today with a light afternoon breeze and plenty of sunshine.

CANON CITY: High – 90; Low – 61. Hot and dry today with calm winds and a bit of afternoon cloud cover.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 78; Low – 49. Beautiful and dry today with a light breeze and afternoon cloud cover.

TRI-LAKES: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Beautiful and dry today with a light breeze and afternoon cloud cover.

PLAINS: High – 90s; Low – 50s/60s. Hot and dry today with a light afternoon breeze and plenty of sunshine. Any storms would likely stay in southern Las Animas county.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 80s/90s; Low – 50s/60s. Storms are possible this afternoon, especially around the Raton Mesa. They would move east and southeast towards the southern border and New Mexico but small hail and lightning are both possible.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER
Tomorrow will be an active day for weather with storms starting in the I-25 corridor, especially around Monument, and then traveling east into the plains where they will likely become severe. On top of that, we will have high fire danger to our south in Las Animas county and the southern I-25 corridor. Saturday a few spotty storms in the mountains are possible but most of us stay dry until Sunday when a bigger wave of energy brings rain to the area.
