Tonight’s Forecast:
Hot stuff this weekend. The simple meteorological story is, a trough that frequently develops over the mountains in the warm season, heats up by day and dissipates at night. It forms because the mountains create and separate two air masses…on either side of the mountain chains. Then, jet stream winds catch anything that may erupt because of that trough, and carry it downwind (usually east.) There are things that can increase the intensity of the trough by day, but it is on it’s own right now, so we get a few widely scattered pockets of t-storms that die before sunset (with the trough.) This will occur again Saturday, but a dry and weak cold front will push through Sunday evening, flushing out the heat for 48 hours.

Rain chances are very slim, maybe a mountain one Saturday afternoon, maybe one or two Tuesday evening, and maybe one or two Thursday and Friday. But no one will see it all those days, and most may not see any.
