Today’s Forecast:
The slow moving, cut off storm to our west is expected to slog through northern Colorado Friday and Saturday. The main reason for concern, is that as temperatures warm up today and tomorrow…this storm adds both moisture and instability to the local atmosphere. The main issue appears to be hail. It is possible for hail to exceed minimum severe criteria, one inch in diameter. The highest risk for such is by far: northern El Paso county, north and northeast, to the Kansas border.

Once the temperatures fall Saturday, the issue goes away, with more general "showers’. And it’s entirely possible that lingering moisture could spawn a midday shower Sunday over the Mountains…and it would be surprising if they drifted into El Paso County before dying out. The weekend, especially Saturday, will be a cool one. Temperatures will warm up fast, early next week.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 52, High – 75. Clear tonight. Sunshine, then building clouds Friday, with a mid-afternoon storm (esp north of Springs).
