Today’s Forecast:
Another beautiful day proceeds a stormy late afternoon and evening for southern Colorado. We’ll be cloudy today but as the afternoon moves on more sunshine will try and crack through the clouds to build up energy for storms later. There are two areas for storms, one south and another up north around the Palmer Divide. Storms will pop earlier in Huerfano county and then move east this afternoon into the evening with heavy rain, lightning and some small hail. The second and bigger round of storms will be starting in Teller county and then move east through El Paso and into the plains. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail will move through that area late today after 5pm through the evening.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 67; Low – 33. Cloudy and dry through most of the afternoon. Storms will start up after 5pm and move through the Springs off and on till 9pm tonight. Lightning, heavy rain and small hail will all be possible, especially for the storms that cross through from 5 to 7pm.

PUEBLO: High – 67; Low – 33. Mainly dry and warm today and tonight. A stray thunderstorm could clip the north side of the city tonight from 6 to 8pm.

CANON CITY: High – 67; Low – 33. Warm and dry today and tonight with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 67; Low – 33. Storms likely to fire around 3 to 4pm and move east into the early evening. Some heavy rain, lightning and a bit of small hail will all be possible out of these storms. Tonight will be cold with lows in the 30s.

TRI-LAKES: High – 67; Low – 33. Cloudy and dry for a majority of the day but storms will push in after 4 to 5pm and will last into the evening. Storms should produce heavy rains, lightning and possibly a decent amount of small hail with the rain ending around 9 to 10pm.

PLAINS: High – 67; Low – 33. Morning clouds and afternoon sun with storms possible across Las Animas and Baca counties, but possibly as far north as Otero and Bent counties. Lightning, some heavy rain and small hail are possible this afternoon through the early evening.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 67; Low – 33. Storms develop around 2 to 3pm and move east through the afternoon with heavy rain, lightning and small hail. This area should be dry tonight with lows in the 40s and 50s.
