Today’s Forecast:

Short term…rain and wet snow (above 6500 feet) continue, steadiest across Douglas, El Paso, and Teller Counties, but light and intermittent further south into Fremont and Pueblo Counties this afternoon and evening. Reports so far of an inch of snow in Monument, and several slushy in Woodland Park. By the time we hit sunset, when it could potentially stick, the moisture will be drying up.

It’s related to a slow-moving storm, easing off far enough east to end precipitation this evening, and skies are expected to begin breaking up overnight, with a nice mix of sun and clouds for Friday, on through the weekend…all thanks to a bubble of High Pressure that will be centered over western Colorado through the period. With the May sunshine, temperatures will warm up rapidly too, 60s Friday, 70s over the weekend.

Beyond that, realistically, there’s very little chance for rain for awhile. There may be a day here or there next week where a few counties pick up an isolated storm, but no widespread rains appear to be coming our way for awhile, after tonight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 36, High – 66. Showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

PUEBLO: Low – 40, High – 72. Showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

CANON CITY: Low – 41, High – 70. Light showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 28, High – 56. Snow showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 33, High – 62. Snow showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

PLAINS: Low – 42, High – 75. Showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 38, High – 66. Light showers end this evening, clouds begin to break overnight. Mixed sun & clouds Friday…warmer.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Canon City Blossom Festival should be fine and dandy, and the weekend itself appears warm and dry, with mostly sunny days and mostly clear night, and not a lot of wind…so all things considered…weather appears fine for all outdoor activities.
