Today’s Forecast:

Weather Alert day for Friday night.
Scattered rain/snow showers will become more widespread this evening, and more likely to become all snow at night, into Saturday morning, winding down either side of Noon (mountains last, mid-afternoon). That will leave us with a nice second half of the weekend. But this storm is reminiscent of last Friday night’s with a little less wind (still, breezy). It will keep us unseasonably cool through Saturday night, and will add beneficial moisture…perhaps near half an inch, which is very significant.

As for rain/snow, it will be all snow now for Teller, western Fremont, Custer, western Huerfano Counties tonight into Saturday. Those areas may wind up with 3-4" of slushy snow…again, mainly on colder surfaces like grass or car tops. There may be some snow on Monument Hill Friday night, but like last week, little or no accumulation. The rest of us in the foothills or Plains will simply see a changeover, but no effects or accumulation tonight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 33, High – 50. Rain to snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

PUEBLO: Low – 37, High – 55. Rain mixing with snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

CANON CITY: Low – 36, High – 53. Rain mixing with snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 25, High – 44. Snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday, clouds beginning to break up later in the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 29, High – 47. Snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

PLAINS: Low – 38, High – 55. Rain mixing with snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 34, High – 53. Rain mixing with snow showers tonight. Snow showers Saturday morning, clouds beginning to break up in the afternoon.

NEXT WEATHER MAKERS: A pair of fairly weak weather-makers will probably drop some showers on us Tuesday and again Thursday…but we are glad for every drop…as the pattern is becoming a bit more active, precipitation-wise, now.
