The winds will stay breezy, turning to the southeast later today and blowing between 7 to 14 mph. Tonight we’ll keep the breeze and see temperatures fall back towards the freezing mark, so be sure and cover any plants you have growing.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER
A Weather Alert Day will be likely again for Thursday as fire danger roars back into southern Colorado. The winds will ramp up again Thursday, ranging from speeds of 15 to 30 mph and gusting up near 40 mph in the afternoon. We are looking at a solid amount of moisture to return Friday and Saturday along the Front Range and well out into the plains. Friday morning we’ll see rain move into the lower elevations, but west of I-25 in this time frame snow will be likely. As the day goes on we’ll see mostly rain due to above freezing temperatures, but Friday evening into Saturday rain will quickly turn to snow and start stacking up, especially in areas with bigger elevation gains. Saturday morning snow will turn back to a wintry mix and then leave the state to the east, drying us up Sunday.
