Meteorologist Jessica Van Meter kicked off the Storm Safe season with a visit to La Veta on Tuesday. She talked with about 85 students in 3rd-7th grade.
After the Spring Fire and following flash flooding concerns, fires and flooding were hot topics. The students learned about how to be safe and prepare for both fires and floods. They also talked about safety during severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.
