UCCS baseball picked to finish 3rd in RMAC preseason poll

COLORADO SPRINGS — Last Thursday, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released their 2020-21 Preseason Baseball Poll with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team picked to finished in third place in the conference with 49 points.

Before the baseball season was cut short in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Mountain Lions held an 11-6 overall record (4-0 RMAC) and were in the middle of their longest winning streak to date with nine consecutive wins.

The 2021 RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll also highlighted Players to Watch for the upcoming season as UCCS landed three student-athletes on the players to watch list which included Jonathan Cowles, Matt McDermott, & Daniel Sivla.

The CSU Pueblo team was picked to finish 5th with 35 total points.

The Mountain Lions are slated to begin their season with a four-game series at home against Montana State Billings University starting on Thursday, March 4 at 2 p.m.

For the Thunderwolves, they will open the 2021 season Friday Feb. 19 hosting Emporia State University.
