Four of the area's best basketball teams took to the floor at Northern Colorado Thursday with a spot in the Final Four on the line.
In the Class 1A Great 8 showdown, the No. 1 Springfield girls basketball team topped No. 8 McClave 42-32 to advance to the last 4. They'll meet No. 5 Shining Mountain Friday at 7 p.m. for a spot in the title game.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 7 Cotopaxi upset No. 2 Briggsdale, 45-42 to meet No. 3 South Baca in the state semifinals at 4 p.m.
The No. 7 Evangelical Christian boys basketball team hung tough with No. 2 Mile High Academy before dropping a 70-63 decision.
