COLORADO SPRINGS — National Signing Day took center stage in southern Colorado Thursday as Pine Creek High School hosted a special ceremony to honor 11 student athletes.
A very strong early signing period for the Eagles, Max Lofy (Wisconsin football), Gabbie Wilson (Air Force volleyball) and KC Brooks (Providence College hockey) highlighted the impressive class furthering their academic and athletic careers.
"It feels great, this is the day you look forward to when you're out there in the summer, during the season playing," Lofy said. "To finally go to the school that's your dream school and to play at the next level is a great feeling."
The hour-long presentation featured background on each of the commits along with an opportunity for each to discuss their journey to playing at the next level.
"It's so special, it's surreal, I've wanted to do this as long as I could remember," Wilson said. "Being able to play the sport that I love at the place that I love, is just unfathomable."
"It was really special, signing that felt so good and a lot of hard work was put into that," Brooks said.
Several of the school's top athletes are still undecided about their collegiate futures and will wait until 2020 to make their official decision.
