PUEBLO — It was a homecoming of sort for nationally ranked roper Trey Yates.
Yates, a Pueblo native, competed in team roping on Saturday night at the Colorado State Fair & Rodeo.
"The hometown rodeo and a lot of family and friends come out and support you and people, kids I've grown up with and families, and its kinda fun, you know, and a lot of the crowd, you know them on a personal basis, and that just makes it that much more exciting," explained Yates.
The State Rodeo runs through Sunday, September 1st.
