PUEBLO — For the second year in a row, the Cannon will boom black as the Pueblo Colts won the 45th edition of their rivalry game with Pueblo East, 28 to 7.
The Colts have now won the cannon for the 32nd time in the 45 year history of the rivalry.
The connection of quarterback Jace Bellah and Luke Guarienti proved to be lethal once again, as the two connected for touchdowns in Saturday's afternoon affair.
Senior running back George Longoria also added 163 yards on the ground with two touchdowns.
The game, which was originally scheduled for Friday, was moved to Saturday (Halloween) due to snow in Pueblo earlier in the week.
With the win, South remains perfect on the year and will face Canon City in Week 5.
The East Eagles drop to 2-2 on the season, and will need to win out to have a shot of making the playoffs.
