There were three tremendous choices for the News 5 Sports "Touchdown Pass of the Year" but only one could take home the 2019 honors.

It comes from the epic regular season finale between Palmer Ridge and Discovery Canyon for the Central Conference Championship between Pikes Peak foes.

On the opening play from scrimmage, the Bears getting creative with a thunderous start. Digging into their bag of tricks with a jet-sweep option pass, future division I stars Luke McCallister hands it off Kaden Dudley, who stepped back and fired it to a wide open Anthony Costanzo for the 77-yard touchdown connection.

"I briefly saw it, then saw Anthony caught it and took off, the team went crazy because it was one of the first plays of the game," Dudley said.

Palmer Ridge would end up losing the game to Discovery Canyon 56-49, but go on to three-peat in Class 3A and win this year's honors for the best pass of the high school football season.

"It was definitely one of the top plays, especially because we were scared to do it and it worked out perfectly," Dudley said.
