MONUMENT — The Lewis-Palmer softball team cruised past The Classical Academy 18-8 in their season opener Thursday afternoon.
Tied at 1 in the second, the Rangers started to pull away thanks to a run-scoring double by Rachel Sears and a two-run homer from Landry Boone.
Leading 6-1 after the frame, LPHS added 12 runs in the next three innings to pick up their first victory of 2020.
After a day off, the Rangers return to action on Saturday when they battle Sand Creek.
