It was a great night to hit the basketball court at Harrison high school for their "Foundation Game."
The Panthers, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, hosted Doherty, a top 20 team in Class 5A, in an exhibition contest with all proceeds going to support the two basketball programs.
A solid showing prior to the start of the regular season, the Spartans took the contest 68-56. However, the night was really about taking the floor for a great cause.
"Some other schools have done this before, I just think this is great for the community," Panthers head coach Eric Kaiser said. "Within districts or whether it's 5A or 4A, just stuff like this is really great for the community and for the kids itself and just to get back to the grind and do what we do best."
Harrison officially opens their season against Palmer Ridge on Dec. 5th, while Doherty travels to Grandview on Dec. 2 to tip-off their 2019-20 campaign.
