COLORADO SPRINGS — Due to COVID-19 issues inside the Denver hockey program, the second Gold Pan series showdown set for this weekend between Colorado College and the Pioneers has been postponed, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced Wednesday. The matchup will be rescheduled for a later date.
In place of the games, the Tigers will now host North Dakota Sunday and Monday (Jan. 10-11) at Broadmoor World Arena. The two-game set against the Fighting Hawks is slated for 7 p.m. on both nights.
CC will not host spectators at The Broadmoor World Arena for the NCHC contests due to the Pandemic.
Along with this weekend’s schedule changes, Colorado College’s two make-up games from the NCHC Pod have been rescheduled. The Tigers will first face Minnesota Duluth in Duluth on Thursday, Feb. 18 with game time at AMSOIL Arena still to be determined, before heading to St. Cloud for a single game against St. Cloud State on Saturday, Feb. 20. Puck drop at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center is set for an early noon CT start.
