PUEBLO — On Saturday, the CSU-Pueblo community came together to honor the life of former Thunderwolf assistant wresting coach Mike Roumph, in a celebration of life ceremony.
Roumph tragically passed away early this month in a rafting accident.
They event took place on campus at the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl Stadium & Thunderzone Pizza and Tap House.
Some many people attended, the Thunderzone reached max capacity for most of the event.
Plenty of pictures were shown, as well as stories told.
"What was most inspiring about Mike was he was so very humble," explained CSU-Pueblo Director of Alumni & Community Relations, Tracy Samora, who knew Mike for the past 13 years. "He did not expect glory, he did not expect his name splashed across newspapers or buildings. He did it because he loved CSU-Pueblo and our students."
Samora says she will miss cheering from the sidelines of football games with Mike the most.
