KALAMAZOO, (MI) — The Colorado College men's hockey team fell behind 3-0 at Lawson Ice Arena and never fully recovered in their 5-2 loss at Western Michigan Friday night.
Trailing 3-0 in the second period, Tigers senior Chris Wilkie netted his 16th and 17th goals of the season to cut the deficit to 3-2 after two periods.
However, the Broncos closed the door with two tallies in the final 20 minutes to cement the victory.
Freshman goaltender Matt Vernon made 39 saves in the loss.
Another missed opportunity in a tightly-contested conference, Colorado College falls to 8-10 -1 overall and 3-7-1 in NCHC play. The Tigers will look to split the series Saturday, puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m.
