ENGLEWOOD — Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio has a lot to figure out before his first preseason game on August 1st against the Atlanta Falcons in the Hall of Fame game.

But there is one position group he isnt worried about: the secondary.

According to Fangio, the group is progress well in the new scheme.

“They’ve been doing well," explained Fangio. "I think [S] Justin [Simmons]’s had a very good camp overall. He did drop a pick today, which he hadn’t done up to this point. I think overall in the secondary most of the guys have been doing pretty good. The young guys are coming. They still make some mistakes, but overall I think our secondary’s been on top of stuff.”

Safety Justin Simmons echoed what Fangio had said stating, “We talk about all the time, and a bunch of other guys on the defense talk about it. Just more opportunities to make plays on the ball. You know this defense is made for that. It is made for everyone to be successful. The thing I love most about it is it is all-inclusive. Everyone has to know what everyone is doing. You know there’s not one job that is not important to the whole defense of scheme. It’s been great. Obviously we have made a lot of great plays, but there’s still a lot of mistakes and sloppiness. We have to cut that out, but we have plenty of time. Week 1 in Oakland is the goal date.”
