ENGLEWOOD — The Denver Broncos running back group will be a little different in 2019.

"The whole running back room is a real unique situation," stated second year running back Phillip Lindsay.

This season the Broncos will have a stable of three different running backs in Lindsay, Royce Freeman and Devonte Booker.

There three styles are all different, but one thing that united them is that all three played in the same conference in college.

"We all enjoy each other," Lindsay explained. "We've known each other for a long time because the majority of us played in the PAC-12 together."

"Like I said, we all feel like we're versatile and can do a lot of things on the field," Booker explained.

And for first year head coach Vic Fangio, he also a fan of the variety of running backs in the backfield

"I think when you can have different backs that bring different styles that sometimes can help you," said Fangio. "One guy is a small, quick, fast guy and the other guy’s got a little more pop to him. That change up can be effective.”

So call them what you want: Sugar and spice, salt and pepper or even shake and bake. Whatever you call the group, just know the only things that matter is that everyone does there job.

"At the end of the day we all three wear the same helmet,' said Lindsay. "When it comes down to it, the first game against the Raiders, we all three need to be ready."
