COLORADO SPRINGS — Black Hills State University hit a jumper as time expired to hand the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team a 73-71 setback Monday night in Gallogly Events Center.
A turnover by the Mountain Lions underneath Black Hills State's basket with .05 seconds remaining in regulation led to a tip-in bucket from Joel Scott to give BHSU a 73-71 win over UCCS.
The Mountain Lions trailed by as many as 12 points in the second half before going on a 16-0 run that gave UCCS a 64-59 lead with 6:27 left in regulation.
Bobby Martin led five Mountain Lions in double figures. He came off the bench to tally 16 points, six rebounds and two steals.
BHSU's Scott and Sindou Cisse led all scorers with 19 points each.
Up next, UCCS will play host to Western Colorado University Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
