Air Force soars past Johnson & Wales, 99-42

The Air Force men's basketball team cruised past Johnson & Wales (Co.) 99-42 Tuesday night at Clune Arena.

With the victory, the Falcons move back to .500 at 6-6 on the season and have won 4-of-5 games overall.

The 57 point margin of victory was the third-biggest in program history and the 42 points allowed was the lowest in the Dave Pilipovich era.

Five players scored in double figures including 14 points from freshman Carter Murphy and 12 off the bench by Chris Joyce.

Air Force jumped out to a 50-29 first half lead and added a 49-13 final 20 minutes to top the Wildcats in non-conference play.

AFA returns to action Saturday, when the team hosts Drake. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
