USAFA — The Air Force men’s basketball (2-1) took down the Lamar Cardinals (0-4), 59-44, in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena.
Senior Chris Joyce scored 23 points to lead the Falcons, who pulled away in the second half.
The Falcons held Lamar to 32 percent shooting on the night and allowed just one three-point basket on six attempts (16.7 percent).
Joyce tied his career-high for points, doing so for the second time this season and third time overall. The senior was 8 of 12 from the field and 3 of 5 from three-point range.
Senior forward Keaton Van Soelen also scored 15 points to go with five rebounds and five assists.
Head coach Joe Scott earned his 14th consecutive win at Clune Arena, a run that dates back to the 2003 season.
Air Force returns to action Dec. 13 at Drake.
