Air Force drops Mountain West opener at Nevada, 74-57

RENO, NEVADA — The Air Force men's basketball team (2-3, 0-1 MWC) dropped their Mountain West opener to Nevada (6-2, 1-0 MWC) 74-57 Friday Night at Lawlor Events Center.

In an up-and-down affair, the Falcons received solid production from their backcourt as freshman Glen McClintock led the team with 15 points, while junior guard AJ Walker chipped in with 14.

McClintock set a career-high for points, shooting 5 of 8 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point range. The new addition also added three rebounds and two assists.

The Wolf Pack shot 51 percent from the field with guard Desmond Cambridge scoring 23 points.

Air Force shot 41 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. The Falcons tied a season-high with 10 steals for the second-straight game.

Senior forward Keaton Van Soelen scored nine points and had a team-high with four assists and three steals. Senior guard Chris Joyce added six points and four assists.

The Falcons return to action Sunday, Dec. 20 for the finale of the two-game series with Nevada. Tip time is 4 p.m.
