After receiving over 2,000 entries, the Sky Sox have narrowed it down to five finalists for the baseball team’s new name.

“We were overwhelmed with the unique and incredible stories that were told by fans,” said Chris Phillips, General Manager of the Sky Sox. “This process has displayed the true passion that this community has for Colorado Springs, the Pikes Peak region, and the state of Colorado. We’ve worked diligently to take all of your responses very seriously while still remaining fun and true to the spirit of Minor League Baseball. We believe these top five names encompass the personality of this community and region.”

Fans can vote for their favorite name on the Sky Sox website, just click "Fan Voting" on the homepage. There are two weeks to vote, so cast your vote before August 1!

Sky Sox said the final voting of the winning team name will be based on originality, creativity, uniqueness, regional relevance, and appropriateness for all audiences. The fan who submitted the winning team name will receive a VIP Baseball Package including four season tickets for the 2019 season, a personalized team jersey and an opportunity to throw a ceremonial pitch during the 2019 season.
