COLORADO SPRINGS — Christmas lights are popping up on homes, businesses, and patios at the hands of one couple. No, not from the North Pole, but right here in the Springs.

Cameron Shaffer is a local firefighter, who has been on rooftops for several weeks now; Not fighting fires, but spreading cheer. He and is wife Hailey, own Code3 Christmas Lights in Colorado Springs.

"I needed a little extra money for the family. My wife and I have four kids. She sets up the appointments from home while my crew and I do the installments," Shaffer said.

On Saturday, 160 lights were installed on a home near Falcon. Every tenth house he gets, Cameron does the installment for free; Putting a glowing touch on homes and faces.

"As a fire fighter we usually see people at their worst, but this gives me a break from that part of my job, plus I get to put a smile on people's faces.

Cameron says he hasn't decorated his own house, yet but hopes to do so soon for his kids.
