COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police need your help finding a vehicle involved in a hit and run that left a pedestrian seriously injured on Saturday, July 13.

Officers were called to the intersection of North Academy Blvd. and North Carefree Circle around midnight. When they arrived on scene, police said they found the pedestrian suffered serious, life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was immediately taken to the hospital.

According to police, the pedestrian was attempting to cross North Academy Blvd. eastbound at North Carefree Circle when the pedestrian was struck by a southbound vehicle that was speeding. Police said the suspect left the scene.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a red or orange 2004-2011 Ford Focus. The vehicle should have a broken right front headlight, damage to the passenger side, and a damaged passenger side mirror.
