GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Multiple agencies are now responding to a wildfire burning outside Glenwood Springs on the western slope. The Glenwood Springs Fire Department says the fire, now named the Sunrise Court Fire, broke out Wednesday afternoon near Four Mile Ranch and has forced some homes to evacuate. That includes everyone who lives in the Four Mile Ranch subdivision and houses along lower Four mile. Evacuated residents are being asked to gather at the former Safeway parking lot in Glenwood. Air tankers from Grand Junction have been called in to help battle the flames. Fire crews from Glenwood, Colorado River Fire Rescue, Carbondale Fire Department and other local agencies are on scene.
It's not immediately clear how many residents are affected or what started the fire.
