EL PASO, TX — Hundreds of strangers came out Friday to comfort a man who lost his wife of 22 years in the mass shooting in El Paso, TX.

Antonio Basco stood at the front of the La Paz Faith Memorial and Spiritual Center in El Paso as a line of people waited to give him a hug.

Margie Reckard was one of 22 people shot and killed by a gunman who opened fire inside a Walmart store earlier this month.

Basco said his wife had no other family to attend her funeral so he invited the public.

At one point 700 people were said to have been waiting outside during the funeral. The venue held 400.
