Avalanche Rescue dogs enjoying the summer
We reached out to the ski resorts to see what their avalanche dogs were up to this summer! Here's a cute slideshow of the pups having fun in the sun.
Meet Huckleberry, the newest addition to the Breckenridge Avalanche Rescue Dog Team! Huckleberry is a 5 ½ month old Australian Shepard.
This summer, she has been getting exposed to everything possible so the world won’t be a scary place when she has a job to do. Obedience is the foundation for a good working dog, so her owners have been working hard to get her trained as she grows.
A few days a week, they even throw in a some games of hide-and-seek so she can get really good at searching!Photo by: Courtesy of Breckenridge Ski Resort Meet Huckleberry, the newest addition to the Breckenridge Avalanche Rescue Dog Team! Huckleberry is a 5 ½ month old Australian Shepard.

The summers are nice and relaxing for both Biskit and Charlotte, but both dogs keep up on their training with their owners/handlers who are also members of the Winter Park Ski and Bike Patrol.
If all goes well, Winter Park is hosting the statewide avalanche dog training Feb. 1-4, 2021. There will be around 40 avalanche dogs, including Biskit and Charlotte, at the resort for annual training.Photo by: Courtesy of Winter Park Ski Resort Meet Biskit and Charlotte, two members of the Winter Park Avalanche Rescue Team!
