CAÑON CITY — The Department of Corrections has confirmed the death of an employee at the Fremont Correctional facility that's part of the East Cañon Complex.
The employee was 28-year-old Joshua Voth, according to the Fremont County coroner.
Cañon City firefighters confirmed with News5 that they responded to an explosion at the same facility just before noon Wednesday.
They say a boiler inside the complex blew in what they describe as a catastrophic failure.
One person was found injured at that time and taken to the hospital.
