PUEBLO- A judge delayed sentencing this week for Joe Pacheco, the owner of JP Home Improvement.

He’s responsible for ripping off more than a dozen homeowners who paid him for renovation improvement projects he didn’t complete.

He was initially charged in June 2018 with 14 felony counts of theft. Updated court records show the number of felony charges grew to 20 before he entered his guilty plea in court back in March.

As part of an agreement to avoid trial, the DA’s Office consolidated the case into three felony charges.

“He deserves prison,” homeowner John Creek told News 5 Investigates. “He took too much and made our lives miserable.”

In all, Pacheco reportedly stole more than $400,000.
