Video shows frightening school bus crash that injured students

PERRY COUNTY, Ohio -- Newly-released video shows a frightening crash involving an Ohio school bus in December that left eight students and the bus driver with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Dec. 19, a school bus carrying students was driving through an intersection in Perry County when a Ford Mustang ran a red light and crashed into the bus, WSYX reports.

Both vehicles went off the road and into the guardrail. The bus then flipped onto its side.

Eight students and bus driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WSYX.

The driver of the Mustang was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including a broken back. He had a suspended license and a warrant out for his arrest.

There have been 101 crashes involving school buses in Ohio so far this year, including eight in Cuyahoga County, two in Summit County and two in Stark County, according to data from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
