BEIJING, China — The International Olympic Committee has unveiled the mascots for the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing.
Bing Dwen Dwen, a panda -- a traditional symbol of China -- has been chosen to represent the Games.
The Paralympics will be represented by another Chinese symbol, this one an orange lantern called Shuey Rhon Rhon.
IOC President Thomas Bach noted at the presentation that Beijing made history as the only city chosen to host both the Summer and Winter Games.
Opening ceremonies for the 2022 games are set for Feb. 4, 2022.
