PAMPLONA, Spain — Half-naked protesters lay on the streets of Pamplona, Spain, Friday with spears jutting from their backs to protest the annual Running of the Bulls.

During the San Fermin Festival hundreds of people run from bulls through the city's narrow streets.

The protesters, from the group Animalnaturalis, want to end what they call a cruel and deadly tradition.

The festival starts Saturday and runs until July 15.
