DENVER — Passengers on a United flight experienced a rough landing at Denver International Airport Sunday night after crews reported a mechanical issue upon touching down.
United Flight 2429 from Newark, New Jersey to Denver landed safely on runway 17R just after 7 p.m., airport officials said. No injuries were reported.
Early Monday morning, the FAA reported that "aircraft gear collapsed on landing," which matched what passengers of the Boeing 737-800 had been saying on social media Sunday evening. The plane was still on the runaway as of 10 a.m., so that runway remains shut down. It is not impacting flights coming in or leaving the airport, the airport said.
Images shared by Twitter user @StarrLeland appears to show the left engine resting on the runway.

Passengers deplaned using a stairway that was driven over to the aircraft by ground crews and bused to the terminal.
DIA officials said the incident should have only a small impact on airport operations.
United Airlines issued the following statement regarding Sunday's incident:
"United flight 2429 from Newark, New Jersey to Denver experienced a mechanical issue upon landing. All customers have been bused to the terminal where our customer service teams are currently assisting them. The aircraft has been taken out of service and is being inspected by our maintenance teams."
