PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. — A hiker missing in the Maroon Bells area for two days has been found alive, the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

The hiker, 66-year-old Neil James Brosseau of Denver, was located Tuesday afternoon around 3:45 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

His condition was described as "generally good" and is meeting with crews to discuss the exact sequence of events since Sunday.

Brosseau separated from his climbing party near the summit of Pyramid Peak Sunday afternoon and spent two nights in the wilderness.

He was reported missing that evening.

Foot teams, a helicopter, and drones were used during the two-day search.

The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office, Mountain Rescue Aspen, The Colorado National Guard High-Altitude Training Site (HAATS), Careflight, Flight for Life, and Aspen Ambulance coordinated in the search and rescue effort.
