WESTMINSTER, Colo. – A woman who was allegedly strangled and beaten by her ex-husband in Westminster on Friday has died at a local hospital, police said Monday.

Yasmin Usama Dahabreh was taken to a hospital in grave condition with life-threatening injuries Friday after police responded to a 911 call about a 33-year-old woman who needed medical help.

James Arthur Naulls Jr., 30, faces an attempted murder charge and is wanted in connection with the woman’s death, police said.

The suspect has a history of domestic violence, and his arrests date back to 2008.

He was charged with aggravated assault in a domestic incident in November and placed on pre-trial release with a GPS ankle monitor. Police said they believe Naulls, Jr. cut off his ankle monitor.

Westminster detectives have followed up on several tips and leads and have reason to believe friends or family are helping him hide and evade capture, police said in a statement Monday evening.

“Mr. Naulls’ is wanted in connection with a murder investigation and deserves due process of the judicial system, but those found to help him avoid capture will also be investigated, and if appropriate, charges will be filed against them,” police said.

Investigators on Monday also asked the public to submit any tips by calling 911 and not through social media.

Naulls, Jr. is 5-foot-7 and 190 pounds with brown eyes and a shaved head. Police said he has distinct face and neck tattoos.

Anyone with information about Naulls' location is asked to call Westminster police at (303) 658-4360. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 720-913-STOP (7867). The reward for information leading to his arrest has been increased to $5,000.

Police said Naulls, Jr. should be considered violent and dangerous.
