EVERGREEN — Friday night, wildlife officers found a young deer in a bad spot in Evergreen.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the young male deer was found tangled up in a soccer net at the Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen.

CPW said they believe the deer had been there for an hour, and from the pictures, it looks like the young buck was tangled up pretty good.

To free the deer from the netting, officers tranquilized it. They then cut the young deer's small antlers off to make it easier to free the animal. CPW said this also made the process safer for the officers.

CPW said their officers kept the deer in a sternal position so it could breath easier and burp out gas as it woke up from sedation.

Not long after officers arrived, the deer was back on its feet and on its way.
