DENVER — Two workers had to be rescued Saturday afternoon after a lift fell through a hole and into an underground parking garage in Denver.
According to news partner KMGH in Denver, the lift was carrying two workers who were cleaning windows on a building in the Cherry Creek area when the concrete beneath the machine opened up.
The lift fell into an underground parking garage below and busted a sprinkler system, which flooded the garage, Denver Fire officials said. A propane tank connected to the lift also ruptured. Denver Police initially reported that a sinkhole cause the parking garage to collapse and a large gas and water line had been ruptured.
The workers were rescued by Denver firefighters and taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to KMGH.
