School is back in session on Monday for Pueblo County schools, and local law enforcement as well as local school districts are warning drivers and reminding drivers to pay attention when approaching schools and school traffic safety zones.
There will be an increased law enforcement presence across the county to ensure that drivers are slowing down and paying attention to speed limits and crosswalks as thousands of kids head back to class.
We spoke with Lieutenant Clifford Kindred with the sheriff's office, who said, " the kid's safety is one of our top priorties so we just want to make sure the kids are out about in the school yard we just want to make sure they are safe as summer comes to an end."
And to drive home the point, if you are caught speeding in a school zone, the fines could double. Please be aware and make sure our kids make it to and from school, safe.
